Skin Series.. Part Two

Hello, Lovely People.

Welcome to a new series on the blog where I will be discussing and suggesting cruelty-free skin care routines for different skin care types, the next one if for you lucky normal skin care types!

Just a little disclaimer, I am no skincare guru, dermatologist or expert, rather just an avid lover of skin care and beauty. These are the products I have either used, heard good things about or know people who rely on them. If you are having a bad time with your skin, whether that be through acne, eczema, rosacea, or something else please invest in yourself and go see a dermatologist.

I am not including SPF because I think that is something that needs to be tried and tested for the individual but PLEASE SPF SPF SPF every single morning (winter included).

Naturally, all products will be cruelty-free and vegan where possible. This is a basic routine and if you have the budget I would recommend using a different morning and night moisturiser and adding in an eye cream, a lip balm with SPF and a twice weekly mask or scrub.  * Photos my own or via Pinterest.

Suggested Routine for Normal Skin (You lucky devils)

With normal skin, you want to ensure you are taking steps to keep it normal for the future, and are working on any issues you are concerned about like ageing, or the occasional breakout. Those with a normal skin type should use products that don’t make their skin feel overly greasy and avoid products that cause excessive dryness to keep it normal.

Cleansers

Tatcha One Step Camelia Cleanser – This won the Mecca cleanser award for 2018, which is a pretty amazing award to get considering the stock that Mecca is known for, this is an amazing brand that I hope to add into my routine to get better with future proofing my skin. This smells beautiful, is oil based and takes off all makeup, a wonderful nourishing solution to clean the face with. You can use this as part of a two-step cleanser routine but it would also work well on its own. Unsure of vegan status but I believe it is.

Mecca Cosmetica Transforming Facial Cleanser – This is a great option if you wear daily makeup, or you live somewhere with lots of traffic and pollution as it will remove all build up and dirt. This has vitamin C in it which is one of the few vitamins for skin that is actually proven by science to brighten, this also smells lovely and relaxing. Unsure of vegan status but most Mecca products are.

Toner

Marie Badescu Rose Water Spray – This isn’t anything super fancy but I think it works a treat to hydrate, make the skin feel fresh and provide an extra layer between cleanser and moisturiser/ serums. I love their lavender version too. Vegan.

Weleda Refining Toner –  Weleda is one of the most well known natural skincare ranges, and I think there is a good reason for this. This refreshing toner would be perfect during the summer when the skin needs a pick me up during the day or after cleansing, it contains witch hazel which I think is a miracle natural ingredient. Vegan.

Moisturiser

Frank Body Moisturiser – The team behind the iconic body scrubs have come out with a face range which is creating waves within the beauty industry. This coffee scented cream is lightweight, nourishing and good value for the ingredient list. Perfect as a makeup base or as a budget-friendly option. Vegan.

Skin Juice Good Juice Probiotic Cream – This is pretty much your daily green juice in a moisturiser form, it’s light, smells lovely and softening.  I like how thin the formula it is yet still very nourishing and brightening. Vegan.

Serum

Marie Badescu Vitamin C Serum – If you are looking into anti ageing, or your skin is feeling a bit flat or lacklustre during winter or after being sick this is a great option. It is also a great price when compared with some other vitamin C based serums and has lots of collagen in it, and smells like orange juice. Vegan.

Ere Perez Quandong Green Serum – With a name that complicated it must do something right? Right. This is another skin care item infused with greens, this will help with any skim texture issues, plump and hydrate, it also looks stylish on your top bench. Vegan.
