My Favourite Snacks

Bonjour!

Look at me going all French, must have been that croissant I ate two weeks ago. I thought it was time I did a food post because it’s been a hot minute, and I love, adore, and delight in food.

These are my favorite vegan snacks, and ones which I can make or prepare quickly and they are great for taking to work or university, and it saves a lot of money when I’m clever and do remember to get the things food shopping. They are also healthy, super simple, and wonderful.

Snacks

Apple Chips – Admittedly these take a long time to cook in the oven, but once you have cut them up and put on the cinnamon that’s about it till you eat them, Preheat your oven to 200F, then thinly slice the apples and sprinkle with cinnamon, and bake for 2 hours and eat.

Roast Veg –  Making a big batch of these each week is such a good idea to snack on.

Fruit Dip – All you need to do is cut up some bananas, strawberries, and apples and dip them in peanut butter.

Smoothie – Puree 1 cup coconut yogurt, 1/2 cup frozen strawberries, 1 frozen banana and 1/4 cup orange juice in a blender until smooth.

Popcorn – Melt 1/3 cup vegan butter with 1 tablespoon of maple syrup and a pinch of salt. Toss with 5 cups popcorn and 1/2 cup pecans. Spread on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake 15 minutes at 180F, so good for movie night.

Chickpeas – Mix half a can of drained chickpeas with cucumber, olives, tomatoes and cashew cheese.

Nut Mix – You can make your own nut mix rather than a Coles one and it is so much better. I like to include cashews, almonds, pepitas, dried blueberries, cranberries, and brazil nuts, bonus points for choc chips.

Pita Bread – Get one of those glorious large flatbreads, top with dried herbs, salt, and pepper, and bake for 15 minutes at 170F.

Crackers – I like to top my crackers with some nut butter, blueberries, and pumpkin spice mix.

Bliss Balls – I make mine with dates, peanut butter, oats, pumpkin seeds, and choc chips.

Hummus Wrap – Spread a flat bread with hummus ( make your own if you can), celery bits, cherry tomatoes, fire roasted peppers, basil flakes, chilli flakes, and season.

Porridge – Making a small bowl of porridge, and toping it with oat milk, seeds, and nuts can be such a nice snack, especially if you top it with berries and coconut flakes.

Happy Snacking ☺️
