The Best Face Masks

Hello, Lovelies.

It’s getting pretty darn cold here, and I just want to snuggle up with a big blanket, Mr Robot, my dog and boy, and put on a face mask before a long nap and then go for a walk in the rain, but instead, I’m on my lunch break.

I want to discuss with you my favourite face masks for different skin issues, I’m off the belief that face masks are a great and simple way to practise self-care.  Let us Begin! All face masks discussed are cruelty-free, and where possible vegan too. Links will be below.  * Images my own or via Tumblr as I can’t afford to have all masks at once.

Face Masks

For oily or blemish-prone skin –   Aesop Chamomile Anti Blemish Mask – This is a mask I use twice a week and adore, I love how it isn’t crumbly, and hard like many clay masks, and if I have pimples I will leave this on overnight on the individual spots and when I wake up they are much less angry and sore. I like to mix this with their oils but any face oil or serum would work if you want to eliminate blemishes and moisturise at the same time. Vegan.

For before an event or night outFrank Body Face Mask – This is full of caffeine so is really great at de-puffing if you have an important event or date night, it’s also great value and gives you a super glowy look. It is described as a cup of coffee for your face but be careful if you are a sensitively skinned babe. Vegan.

For ageing or dry skin- Zk’in Certified Organic Brightening & Hydrating Face Masque – I was recently given this and so far I am really enjoying it, it smells like cocoa with a twinge of seaweed which is surprisingly comforting, and gives your skin that lovely tightening feeling after application which I think is a good sign, it’s also organic and vegan and has patented ingredients in it. Vegan.

For blemish prone and sensitive skin – Herbivore Botanicals Pink Clay Mask – First up this baby has the best minimalist packaging which I love, it has a cooling, calming effect, and you mix the clay with a little water for easy applying, plus it smells lovely and the scent lingers all day. I would use this if I have any redness, blemishes or extra sensitivity that day, this whole line has an emphasis on plant-based and natural things and I’m impressed by it.

For Large Pores- Caoloin Pore Pack – If you have been neglecting your diet, partying too hard or indulging in lots of wine this little lovely may help you, it would also be good if you are seeing little wrinkles or want to temporarily minimize pores (sorry guys pores can’t actually be permanently shrunk like many brands claim).

For Redness and Soothing – Origins Mega Mushroom Soothing Face Mask – If you have super sensitive or skin prone to redness look into this lovely. It doesn’t smell at all like mushrooms which I was worried about and is good for fragile and angry skin types, I also admire this mask because I think their are not enough fragile skin care option out there.

* If the mask doesn’t have vegan written next to it I think it is vegan still as I’ve tried to pick all vegan masks but it’s not the kind of thing I want to get wrong. All masks are natural and cruelty free to the best of my knowledge. ❤️
