Monthly Favourites

Hello, Beauties.

I apologise that this post is coming to you a little late, I have had a whole heap of things due at University and also went away to see Lana Del which was truly magical and too short. This month I wrote essays, found a new dog food for Lola, and had a few days off the grid where I paddled boarded and bought too many chai lattes. It was a good month with a few stressful days thrown in, but none of those mattered after seeing the queen that is Lana and hanging out with my boy in a new city for a little while. I hope you had a marvellous month. It’s getting colder here which is very exciting but means I’m craving too many hot drinks.

As always all items are cruelty-free to the best of my knowledge and budget friendly. All items will be linked below that are available online. Let’s begin with this month’s quote. * Also my hand looks weirdly swollen in one of the photos and that could be allergies.

“You tell me to quiet down cause my opinions make me less beautiful but I was not made with a fire in my belly so I could be put out I was not made with a lightness on my tongue so I could be easy to swallow I was made heavy half blade and half silk difficult to forget and not easy for the mind to follow”

Mushrooms – I love little brown mushrooms,  I have been putting them on pizzas, on top of the sweet potato and regular potato mash, in salad and with brown rice. They are so yummy and full of nutrients.

Pizza Base –  I get a beautiful thin pizza base from my local supermarket, with chilli, olives, and olive oil on top. It’s so good and not thick which I dislike in pizza. I top mine with basil, mushrooms, olives, capsicum and spinach. Yummm. It’s also amazing with super thin slices of red potato, rosemary and cashew cheese.

Fab Iron – First up this ain’t no food. It’s a supplement. This baby stops me from getting anaemic and doesn’t taste like grass, plus it has B and C vitamins and zinc to absorb the iron and I love that its a zero taste capsule.

 Makeup/ Skincare/ Beauty

Dr Bronner Lavender Body Lotion – This smells wonderful, not an overpowering, scary lavender but a lovely sleep-inducing, subtle scent.  It has heaps of hemp and almond oils in it which my sensitive skin adores.  All organic and wonderful too. I also use the matching soap in this scent or in the lemon one. I want to get my boy the shaving lotion from them too.

Native Deodorant in Vanilla and Coconut – This smells like coconut, and stops me from being smelly which I hate, you cant ask for more than that! I also want to try the lavender and rose flavour. Big win for the continuing deodorant hunt.

Sleeping Beauty Tea – This is meant to make your skin better while you sleep and although I’m not sure if it actually does this, it tastes lovely and helps you to fall asleep. Proper rest is so important for good skin which is why it has gone into this months beauty section. I love it’s minimal packaging as well.

Tech/ Tv/ Internet

Grace Fit Uk – I love this women’s accent as it reminds me of my mums. She’s a very cute fitness guru and I have learnt a lot from her channel as she transitions to veganism. A great resource for new and old vegans alike.

Posture Check App – This app from the app store, it’s a godsend for someone who tends to slouch, all it does is remind you every 2 to 3 hours to stand up straight. I love it and its free.

Melissa Ambrosini Podcast – I love this lady, she wrote a wonderful book called Mastering your Mean Girl which I found helpful, and now I am enjoying her weekly podcast and meditation. With topics such as veganism, going paleo, stress management, love and fitness there is always something to discover (lol I sound like an add). I listen via the Spotify app during my bus rides home.

Wishing you a wonderful and chilled out April.❤️
